Programming

Mondays
10:30 am - 11:00 am
Join us at the Elkader Public Library for Story Time Mondays from 10:30-11:00. Our calendar year is September through May. A special Summer Reading Program is offered June through July.
We encourage preschoolers, toddlers, and babies to attend with a parent or caregiver. Fun activities include singing, marching, stories, and educational age-appropriate games. Enjoy a take-home craft with your child later.

3rd Tuesday
4:00 - 5:00 pm
Selection For September:
Bring Your Own Book
Join a great group of people every third Tuesday at 4:00 pm to discuss a new book each month. Ask at the circulation desk for a copy of that month's selected title or bring your own copy to that month's meeting.

3rd Thursday
4:00 - 5:00 pm
September's Topic:
AI and Chat GPT
Once a month, Samm goes over a pre-selected topic at the library. While these sessions are able to be attended by all ages, they are aimed at adults, particularly those who are looking to learn more about that month's topic.
If you are interested in scheduling one-on-one time with the librarian, you can do so below.

Wednesdays
2:00 - 3:00 pm
Grab your yarn or thread craft of choice and stop in at the Elkader Public Library to gather and craft with others. It's a great way to get inspired, share your progress, and get advice on that one part of your project that has been particularly difficult.

1st Saturday
10:00 - 11:00 am
BYOB or Bring Your Own Book is the perfect book group for those who are looking for a book club, but are looking for a go-your-own-way sort of one. Once a month, BYOB-ers gather and talk about the books they have recently read. It is a great way to get suggestions for new books to read.

Tuesdays
2:00 - 3:00 pm
Stop by the library to play favorites like Scrabble and Rummikub. Expect good conversation and good-natured ribbing, without the accompanying competitive nature. It's a great time that you're bound to enjoy.
