Interlibrary Loan
If the item you want is not available at the Elkader Public Library, we can request that item via Interlibrary Loan.
► If the item is located at another Public Library in Iowa, this service is completely free of charge as we utilize IAShares, a courier system, to pass items across the state.
► If the item is located at an academic library or other special library in Iowa, this service has a fee of $7.00 to cover shipping costs of mailing the item to the loaning library as we are unable to utilize IAShares to get items to and from these libraries.
Patrons are asked prior to requesting the item on SILO, our request hub, if they are comfortable requesting from a library that would incur a fee.
