Storytime

Mondays

Join us at the Elkader Public Library for Story Time Mondays from 10:30-11:00. Our calendar year is September through May. A special Summer Reading Program is offered June through July.

We encourage preschoolers, toddlers, and babies to attend with a parent or caregiver. Fun activities include singing, marching, stories, and educational age-appropriate games. Enjoy a take-home craft with your child later.

Book Discussion

3rd Tuesday

4:00 - 5:00 pm

Join a great group of people every third Tuesday at 4:00 pm to discuss a new book each month. Ask at the circulation desk for a copy of that month's selected title or bring your own copy to that month's meeting.

Note: This program is geared towards homeschooled children aged 6-11 based upon the book selection, but parents are encouraged to make the final decision.

now through 1/7

Pick-up or print out a Polar BINGO sheet and spend the month of December on a winter adventure using the magic of library materials. Patrons of all ages are encouraged to participate.

Bring Your Own Book

1st Saturday

10:00 - 11:00 am

BYOB or Bring Your Own Book is the perfect book group for those who are looking for a book club, but are looking for a go-your-own-way sort of one. Once a month, BYOB-ers gather and talk about the books they have recently read. It is a great way to get suggestions for new books to read.

Afternoon Games

Tuesdays

2:00 - 3:00 pm

Stop by the library to play favorites like Scrabble and Rummikub. Expect good conversation and good-natured ribbing, without the accompanying competitive nature. It's a great time that you're bound to enjoy.
